My Song Introduction
- "Sunshine"
- Acoustic Alternative as heard though the emphasis on acoustic instruments, acoustic guitar and the vibes, and alternative in the sense the sound doesn't exactly conform to any mainstream genre. The sound of the song attempts to match the story that the lyrics tell.
- Chance on Bass, Caleb on Vibes, Ryan on Acoustic Guitar, Ms. V on Vox, and Max on drums.
- Sunshine describes a character lost in the world of heroin addiction, struggling with his deteriorating mental state and sense of realism. Sunshine is a nickname for heroin and felt appropriate for the song as it is the subject matter. Themes were drawn from songs like Golden Brown by the Stranglers and a variety of sounds found in the tunes of The Cure and similar bands of the same new wave movement. Drug usage is a continuous theme throughout music and despite none of the band members having indulged in hard substances such as hero in we attempted to delve into the mindset of a user through movies such as Trainspotting and Requiem for a Dream.
